Recipes for Chamoru dishes
Three iconic Chamoru dishes are Hineksa’ Aga’ga‘ (Red Rice), Kelaguen Mannok (Chicken Kelaguen), and Fina’denne’ (dipping sauce). These dishes are usually served at fiestas and special occasions.
Hineksa’ Aga’ga‘ (Red Rice) gets its color from achote seeds either from rubbing the seeds with water or from achote powder.
Basic ingredients: rice, achote seeds (or powder), water, oil, onions
Basic instructions: if you have a rice cooker, it is basically the same process, but use achote water instead. The oil and onions add umami to the dish.

Fina’denne (dipping sauce) is a staple of found at most Chamoru homes.
